We are ever conscious that 2020 has been a difficult and extremely painful year for so many members of our communities across the country.
We have been shocked and overwhelmed by the senseless deaths of so many people such as George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, David Dorn and recently in Salt Lake City, Bernardo Palacios Carbaja. While many may not completely understand the day-to-day discriminations and struggles People of Color endure, our hearts are breaking because of your pain.
Towne Storage is committed to providing equal opportunities for employment. We will continue to learn from our Black communities and support policies that will make a difference for those who are hurting at this time. No one should ever have to face this fight alone and we are committed to standing up against racism and prejudice.
Here are some ways to help to rebuild a better community:
Reach out and serve someone of a different race
Talk with your family members and friends about the issues and what we can do
Contact your government representatives and call them to action for better policies
Speak out against racism when you see/hear it
Listen to the experiences of members of the black community
As Martin Luther King, Jr. once said,
We have before us the glorious opportunity to inject a new dimension of love into the veins of our civilization.
